Taipei, Taiwan, August 17, 2011 - Well
Communication Corp., a leading supplier of network communication in
Taiwan, today announced that it is working with Intel Corporation
in the development of a line of Communication and Networking Riser
(CNR) adapter products. Well Communication Corp., well known for its
commitment to high quality, competitive price, and satisfying service,
will carry the same level of commitment to the CNR family.
CNR is an interface specification designed
by Intel for ATX family motherboards. The new riser solution is designed
to reduce the cost to PC-OEMs of implementing LAN, modem and audio
subsystems. The CNR specification defines a scalable motherboard riser
card interface that supports home networking, 10/100 Ethernet LAN,
DSL, wireless, multichannel audio, and broadband. CNR is an open industry
specification to allow the industry to benefit from the integration
of different technologies/ features into Chipsets, motherboard SKU
reduction, and lower the complexity of homologation process for MB
and OEMs. The specification defines the CNR architecture for both
standard and low-profile risers and includes electrical, mechanical,
and thermal requirements of the riser interface.
Well's CNR adapters with Conexant and
SmartLink advanced software technology, not only supports audio and
V.90 analog modem, but also contributes a means for providing a solution
of Home networking or 10/100 Ethernet LAN. In addition, by the application
of serial EEPROM, CNR offers PNP function that allows you to separate
certification requirements from the motherboard. With the added functionality
and the superior hardware-integration design, a system manufacturer
has several motherboard acceleration options available as well as
expandability for future technologies.
